Clean air for us and and our children

February 24, 2021 @ 19:30 - 21:00

For the second event of our series the panellist will discuss the issue of air pollution in Maastricht.

The city is one of the most polluted in the country due to fumes from cars, trucks, boats and airplanes which use the Maastricht region as their playground. At the same time, children no longer play outside – since so much public space has been set up for transport that our streets are no longer safe or healthy to explore. We demand that the municipality acts more vigorously against air pollution.❗️❗️

Air pollution can have significant impacts on our health. This panel brings together three speakers to discuss these implications and explore the ways in which the city of Maastricht can remedy this. The number of polluting passenger cars and freight traffic in and around the city should be reduced in the short term.

Introducing a low emission zone will vastly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the city’s air quality. We, as citizens of Maastricht, are entitled to healthy, clean air and a safe environment.

This problem cannot be delayed any further!⏳

Join our discussion and together let’s find solutions for our polluted Maastricht!💚💪
